....Stamp Exhibition - Instant Smilers
For the first time at the SPRING STAMPEX event held in London in February
2013, Royal Mail produced Instant Smilers from a Booth area where half sheets of
10 stamps/labels were available for purchase by the public from a Hytech Post
& Go machine located adjacent to the Instant Smilers Booth.
This development seems to have caught the public's attention because this
arrangement has subsequently been replicated at a number of national and at
least one international show.
Instant Smilers booths were to be seen at the Salisbury Stamp Show held in
March 2013 and again at the annual Congress of the Scottish Philatelic Societies
held at Perth between 19-20 April 2013. Two different sheets were made available
at that show.
At the 2013 World Stamp Expo staged at Melbourne, Australia, between the 10-15 May, Royal
Mail had a Post & Go facility at the show offering the Red, White and Blue
instant Smilers show featuring a show related themed label image.
Other stamp show events have hosted the Post & Go facility to date
including the Instant Smilers booth area - MIDPEX Stamp Show held at
Royal Leamington Spa on 5-6 July 2013 and York Stamp and Coin Fair held at York
Racecourse on 19-20 July 2013. In September 2013 the Post and Go road show
returned to STAMPEX which was again held at the British Design Centre,
Islington, held between 18-21 September 2013. In November the road show moved on
to Stafford Stamp Show held between 8-9 November 2013 and so far in
2014 it has visited the York Stamp and Coin Fair, Spring Stampex
and Salisbury Stamp Show.
